 Ok, last bird picture for a while. This one is a Pine Siskin. They look almost exactly like the Cassin Finch except they have a little bit of yellow in their wing and their beaks have a little different shape.

 Having this bird feeder is also helping me learn to identify lots of new birds. Hopefully I'm getting them right! I believe this is a young Cassin Finch. So cute and fluffy in the snow!

 I so much love the Palouse. I'm hoping to get a little better at capturing it's beauty this year. I love seeing the hint of green as the winter wheat starts coming up. Even in January!

More birds. I am really loving having a bird feeding right outside our window. But I have to be really sneaky to be able to get a picture of the birds that isn't through the dirty window. So these aren't quite as crisp and clean as I'd like, but if the birds keep coming back I'll keep practicing!

We went out to Idler's Rest today at the bottom of Moscow Mountain and I took lots of pictures. I played with, and learned a little more about, f stops and getting some closer shots. Idler's Rest always feels a little magical to me. I love seeing all the different shades of green in the middle of January! Can you find Spencer in the very last picture?
